Today is the last day of January and unfortunately, it seems like the work pace is catching up all around me. So, I will therefore be offering a prayer to God every single day for miracles... yes... that is S at the back of miracles...
Anyway, just wanted to share something I read off a book. It is entitled 'the value of a smile'... I cut off the irrelevant part... muahaha...
The value of a smile
It costs nothing, but creates much.
It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give..
It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
None are so rich they can get along without it, and none so poor but are richer for its benefits.
It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign of friends.
It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and Nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is no earthly good to anybody till it is given away.
(Carnegie, 1936)
I do sometimes wish that a smile can melt away all worries and all problems. Like if my friend is crying about her pains and sufferings, can I wipe it away with my smile? Probably will be a crooked smile after she park her fist within it.
Anyway.. anyway... anyway... like so wisely spoken, happiness is not dependent on outward situation but on inner condition. A load will always be heavy when you carry it, but you can choose to carry it happily or unhappily. It can be so easily said than done but I believe in one step at a time. So, if you wanna choose to do just one thing today, you can choose to smile. :)
