Can't believe that it takes such a long time for the photographer to return to us with the photographs of my sister's wedding. A total of 3-4 weeks in total. I have analyzed thpse pics one by one and I am sure he didn't do any editing. I still look awesomely me. However I am sure he painstakingly ensured he picked all of my ugliest pic. Damn!
But, anyway...this was my first time as maid of honour, so I flew back to Msia 1 week plus before the wedding to give a helping hand. For one whole week, I could only cram in 5-6 hours of sleep on average helping with the last minute details of the event. From compiling their beautiful love story to the video editing to the traditional (and my much anticipated) ceremony of passing the bride to the groom, every thing required meticulous planning and much verbal abuse! Ouchie!
I hope my sister and my brother in law would enjoy awesome years ahead of them and can reminiscent on this wonderful day as the start of their beautiful journey ahead. So, without further a due... let's roll the pics...
| Decorating the house prior to the wedding... Ok la, it wasn't much. Mostly only requiring sticking ready made stickers... |
| For the most sacred ji mui ceremony, we prepared heart shaped sandwiches of wasabi and one very special concoction for the groom... hehehe... The clothes with the red ribbon are actually random pieces of cloth from the bride and two kids, the groom would then be blind folded and asked to sniff out his bride's cloth... |
| These heart shaped origami contains questions for the groom to answer... hehehe... |
| Barely could open our eyes on this wondrous day, only had 3 hours of sleep... bring on the BAGS!! |
| Ji mui and the bride |
| The bride and I |
| Hehe... The groom eating the special sandwich we prepared for him. Look at him! Wanna spit it out~! Hehe... The guy to the left looks soo relaxed eating his wasabi sandwich... Damn! Should have put more~! |
This pic is so epic... BRING ON THE PUNISHMENT!! (We are Sparta~!) lol...
Punishment 1: Brazilian Wax~! Go and cry to your mama~! rotfl... Note: Please do not attempt this at home. These men have received numerous training from their previous 'heng tai' experience. Another note: Heng tai as in chinese's heng tai and not japanese's hen tai. That would be funny... :P |
Groom: Hmm... all smell like diaper one... How I know o? Surprisingly, he picked out the correct one le... how he do it? |
As we were running out of time, all thanks to the photographer (I haven't forgiven you for preventing me from unleashing my full planned out torture~! js kidding). The treasure hunt was cut short. The treasure is the bride's crystal encrusted shoe locked within her RED luggage bag. The groom and his heng tai... sounds so wrong, henceforth, I shall call them his henchman... had to look for the key all over the house to open the bag.
Finally he opens the luggage bag and holds the shoe in his hand, but before he can go in the room... cannot forget the red Ang pows~!
| The groom helping the bride wear her shoe... Me at the back orchestrating something... what could it be? |
Ta ~ da~! Beautiful moment~! Pointer for those confetti poppers, if you want 100% guarantee, take a fork and poke some holes at the top. Oh gosh, can't believe I am saying this but thanks to the photographer who taught us this trick~! |
| Now the bride can leave her house and join her groom in their wonderful ever after. Left: Jossie, the make up artist. Gotta LOVE her~! |
| One whole family shot... our family just got officially bigger today... |
| My side of the family |
| Oh yeah, got this weird tradition that they ask a virgin boy to come roll around on the new bed. Seems to mean like they will have lotsa kids in the future or be as reproductive as rabbits or something... but damn funny, look at this granny rolling him around.... so kesian... |
| At the banquet... the traditional yaaaaaaaaa.....m sheng....EAR SPLITTING MAN!! |
| Us, youngster and the groom~! |
| Our table, most of the mastermind of the event... yeah deh... |
Alright, this concludes the long post peppered with pics and my lazy summary of the day. If I could see the photographer again, I will ask him 'Why u no take pic of my shoes?? It was pretty painful but awesome shoes lo... ' Right? I knew you would understand the feeling. :P
O well, enough about the shoes~!
Obviously marriage is a commitment for a lifetime and there should not be any doubts when you walk down that aisle. Because if there is, well... you shouldn't really bother with the whole ceremony, just splurge on us and save us the trouble, right? Anyway, here's to true love~! After 7 years of being together, they finally tied the note. I am hoping this year would be my lucky year~! Cheers~!
